HAVE your young ones outgrown their uniforms?
You can now donate them to help raise funds for the British Red Cross.
Up until August 26, Tesco stores are asking customers to donate old uniforms to help raise cash for the charity.
There will be collection points located in the foyer of 80 stores nationwide for customers to dispense of old school uniforms, including at the Tesco in Sepentine Green, Hampton.
Tesco Clothing has covered the costs for the collection bin production and delivery and is also picking up all donations from stores and taking them to Tesco depots (near British Red Cross depots) to make collection easy and keep costs as low as possible for the charity.
The British Red Cross aims to raise money from the recycled school uniforms either by selling on good quality uniforms in one of their 325 UK shops, where they will be sorted by shop staff and volunteers, or for items that do not meet shop quality standards they will be sold to rag merchants.
The rag merchants can sell repairable items to the second-hand market and recycle items which can not be repaired.
