It is excellent news that car pollution is lower in Peterborough than in any other city in Britain.

The Development Corporation’s road planning has endowed us with a system which allows the free flow of traffic.

Moving cars pollute less than stationary traffic, as a trip to London will soon confirm, hence our status.

Sadly recent activities by the City Council seem set to end this happy state of affairs both temporarily by current roadworks and for the long term future by demolishing the pedestrian bridge over Bourges Boulevard and installing crossings on a particularly busy stretch of that busy dual carriageway.
