Is it necessary for MP to use those terms?

Stewart Jackson recently took it upon himself to state that the Peterborough Telegraph Facebook page is 'full of bile from knuckle dragging morons.'

No Mr Jackson, it is full of observations from members of the community, voicing their opinions on a variety of subjects as we are all entitled to do. While accepting that Mr Jackson’s combative and sometimes controversial style occasionally results in people being equally forthright in their response, surely that goes with the territory? No politician is going to be universally liked.

This type of undignified and insulting talk is unbecoming of an elected government representative.

I would like to suggest that Mr Jackson uses a future installment of his Westminster Life column, to explain why he feels it is necessary for a member of Parliament to be so rude about people, many of whom are his constituents.

David Cameron is battling to rid the Conservatives of their ‘nasty party’ tag and, whatever justification Mr Jackson feels he has for his comment, this type of behaviour is unlikely to ever be a vote winner.
