A woman needed hospital treatment after a fire at a flat in Peterborough in the early hours of this morning.

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) received a call at 5.44am today (7th October) to Greenham, in Bretton.

A paramedic in a rapid response vehicle attended and treated a woman, believed to be in her 20s, who was suffering from smoke inhalation.

She was taken to Peterborough City Hospital for further treatment.
