This is the rare moment a “mini twister” was spotted circling across the skies of Spalding.

The unusual weather phenomenon, called a funnel cloud, is more commonly spotted in areas of North America.

But shocked locals noticed the strange sight in town on Wednesday night, May 18.

Eyewitness George Power spotted the funnel cloud with his son Freddie, 11, as they approached the town from Sutterton along the A16.

“It looked like it was over West Pinchbeck,” said George, “but then it disappeared.

“It was my son who noticed it in the sky and asked if it was a twister. I looked at it trying to think of an alternative explanation, as twisters aren’t really common occurrences around here, but I had to concede that’s what it was.
