Firefighters have tackled a blaze at the Eye Roundabout services in Peterborough.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue were called at about 3.30pm to the car fire.

A spokeswoman for the service said: “At 3.27pm on Thursday a crew from Dogsthorpe was called to a car fire in Eye Road, Peterborough.

“Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the car fire, which had spread to affect outdoor electrical structures including a drive-through menu board. Firefighters also isolated the electrics and gave advice to the manager on site.

“The incident was dealt with by 4.35pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental, by electrical.”
