A woman has been seriously hurt after a coach, with around 70 people on board, crashed into a ditch on the A141 near March earlier this morning.

The woman, who is her 50s, has been taken to the Peterborough City Hospital with serious injuries following the incident, which happened at around 6.15am today.

Police say several other people have suffered minor injuries.

The A141 was closed between Mill Hill Garage and Knights End Road, but re-opened shortly before 10am. Motorists were advised to avoid the area or expect delays.

Police have already launched an investigation into the incident.

Sgt Simon Goldsmith, of Cambridgeshire Police, said a short time ago: “I am particularly keen to speak to the driver of a yellow bus which was seen in the area at the time of the collision.

“I believe it was heading towards March, coming from the direction of Chatteris on the A141.”

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the road policing unit via the non-emergency 101 number.
