Tuesday 10.30am: Witnesses are being sought after a cyclist was found dead in a ditch close to Gedney Hill Golf Club near Crowland.

The 55-year-old man, who has not yet been named but is local, was found at the bottom of a ditch with about 18 inches of water off West Drove North, Gedney Hill, at about 9.30pm yesterday.

Police believe the man had been dead for some time and they are trying to trace his movements after he was last seen at his home by a neighbour at about 10am yesterday morning.

A post-mortem is to be carried out later today to find the cause of death but at the moment police are treating the man’s death as unexplained.

Anyone who saw a cyclist near Gedney Hill Golf Club after 10am yesterday or who has any other information should call 101, stating incident 489 of June 9.
