Wednesday, 1.25pm: A spillage of pumpkins on the A16 near Spalding - believed to have been caused by a pot hole - has been cleared.

Motorists were facing disruption earlier today after a tractor spilt a trailor-load of the seasonal foodstuff on the A16 between the Cowbit and Weston Hills roundabouts.

A spokeswoman for Lincolnshire police said the tractor is thought to have hit a pot hole in the road, causing the trailer to overturn and shed its load.

The road was down to a single lane for a time, but had been cleared by 12.55pm.
