Work to begin on A47/A1 junction near Peterborough

Work starts next Monday (12 January) on a £600,000 scheme to improve the busy A1/A47 Wansford Interchange west of Peterborough which carries more than 60,000 vehicles per day.

The work is due to start and will see the A47 eastbound approach to and from the roundabout widened, the widening of the A1 exit slip road approach to the roundabout and traffic signals will be installed at the roundabout.

Subject to weather conditions, the work is scheduled to last until the end of March.

The work will take place between 8pm and 6am from Monday to Friday with the odd weekend work.

Work will start Monday 12 January on the stretch of road at Wansford near the junction with the A1.

The work will take place at the spot where Samantha and Stephen Durber were killed in August 2013.

Subject to weather conditions, the work is scheduled to last until the end of March.

It will take place between 8pm and 6am from Monday to Friday with the odd weekend work.
