A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a hit and run in Peterborough this morning which hospitalised a woman and two young children.
Police and ambulance crews were called at 8.52am to reports of a collision involving a van and three pedestrians, a woman and two young children, in Reeves Way, Peterborough.
The driver of the van initially left the scene but called police to report the collision shortly after. He has since been arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
The East of England Ambulance Service dispatched a rapid response vehicle, ambulance officer, and two ambulance crews to assist.
Medics were on scene within three minutes of the call to assess three patients, the woman and two children.
Fortunately none had sustained any serious injuries and all were conscious and breathing.
All three have been taken to Peterborough City Hospital for further care.
The road was closed while the emergency services dealt with the incident and buses diverted.
It has now reopened.
