UPDATE: Car hits central reservation blocking A1 at Peterborough

Police are at the scene of a collision on the A1 at Peterborough this afternoon, Wednesday March 29.

The crash has taken place on the southbound carriageway just before Alwalton.

There are delays back to Sibson currently after a silver Citroen estate hit the central reservation at around 1pm.

Two ambulances were sent to assist by the East of England Ambulance Service with one remaining on scene. Two patients are being assessed with complaints of back pains.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area, but the crash has now been cleared.
