Tuesday 9.45am: Two men have died following a crash near Alconbury on Monday (22 December).

Jordan Gardner (22) from Brookside, Alconbury and Philip Watkin (23), of Rusts Lane, Alconbury, both died in the collision between a black Honda Civic and a blue Ford Escape.

The incident happened at around 3.25pm on Alconbury Weston Road

Jordan was driving the Civic, while Philip was a passenger in the same car. A 19-year-old man from St Ives, who was also in the Civic, has been taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford, a 41-year-old man from Alconbury, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

PC Ian Gray, investigating, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or either vehicle in the moments leading up to the incident.

“In particular I am keen to trace the driver of a white car who was travelling on the road shortly before the crash who may have seen the incident behind them.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Gray at Cambridgeshire police on 101.
