Peterborough’s community spirit has again shone through amid the terrible scenes in Broadway today where a bus collided with a building.

The collision took place at about 11.25am when a car and bus collided. The Stagecoach bus the hit the offices of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

But the ctiy’s emergency services and public rallied to help.

Olivia Hogan posted on the Peterborough Telegraph’s Facebook page: “My mother was working in the building next door and I am so proud of her helping as many as she could with comfort, first aid and anything else she could do whilst waiting for the services to arrive, I hope everyone is okay.”

Razaq Khan wrote: “My daughter was having tution in the building next door. Thankfully she is fine and home safely. Thanks to the policeman for helping me find her. I hope everyone else is ok”

Mel Adam added: “Much respect to the emergency services/hospital working over Christmas to keep us safe.”
