A serious collision between a car and a motorcycle has shut the B1090 Sawtry Road in Abbots Ripton this morning, Tuesday August 9.

Police were called at 8.15am this morning by the ambulance service with reports of the collision.

Magpas Doctor Andy Lindsay and Paramedic Dan Read landed beside the B1090 via the Magpas Air Ambulance. The team assessed a man in his 30s who had sustained multiple life threatening injuries. They then anaesthetised him at the scene and he was then taken by land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where he was in a critical condition upon arrival.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew were also in attendance.

The B1090 has been closed between the village and Kings Ripton crossroads for most of the day but reopened at around 3pm.
