Lorry overturns at Thorney, causing delays

A roundabout that leads onto the B1040 at the Thorney bypass was shut after a lorry overturned.

Police were called at 1.11pm today (Friday, July 3).

The roundabout was shut eastbound with a diversion in place to go on to English Drove then back on to the A47.

The road is said to have re-opened at around 5pm.

Cambridgeshire Fire And Rescue Service were also called out and released the lorry driver using specialist cutting equipment.

The East of England Ambulance Service said they had taken one person to Peterborough City Hospital as a precaution.
