Planned changes to East Coast and Thameslink Great Northern rail timetables affecting Peterborough routes during the Christmas and New Year period:

East Coast timetable changes:

- Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 December

Engineering work will be taking place in the King’s Cross area until late morning on the Saturday with only a limited number of services running.

If you are traveling early, the advice is to start or end your journey at Finsbury Park with a change of train.

There will be a reduced service to and from London King’s Cross for the remainder of Saturday and throughout Sunday with other services starting from/terminating at Doncaster, Newark North Gate, Peterborough or Stevenage.

Services from King’s Cross will leave up to 20 minutes earlier than normal and will resume their usual stopping times from Peterborough onwards.

Services to King’s Cross will arrive up to 40 minutes later than normal, so please keep this in mind when planning your journey.

- Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 December

A reduced service will operate between London King’s Cross and Leeds.

- An hourly service will operate between London King’s Cross and Leeds on New Year’s Eve.

Thameslink Great Northern changes:

- Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 December

There will be significant alterations on all routes due to major engineering work taking place between London King’s Cross and Finsbury Park.

- Monday 29, Tuesday 30 and New Year’s Eve

A Saturday level of service will operate, with the Moorgate branch open at usual weekday opening times.

- There will be additional trains between Midnight and approximately 2.30am (on the morning of New Year’s Day).

- A Sunday level of service will operate, with no trains between Moorgate and Finsbury Park on New Year’s Day
