Young girl hit by a bus in Peterborough

Tuesday, 6.35pm: A teenage girl was unconscious after being hit by a bus outside a school in Peterborough this afternoon.

The air ambulance attended the scene outside Thomas Deacon Academy, in Queen’s Gardens.

The girl was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by road, a spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service said the girl was unconscious but breathing.

No other details of injuries were revealed.

Police closed the road while she was treated.
