A POSH fan was left cursing the weekend snowfall after getting marooned in his car for ten hours overnight in freezing conditions on the M6.

Lee Sardeson (41) was travelling back to Peterborough with three friends having watched Posh play at Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

Lee, who has been watching Posh for 25 years, was driving along the M6 when his Toyota Previa people carrier skidded on the snow and hit the central reservation at 11.15pm.

Lee said: “We were only travelling at 30mph because the snow was falling so hard.

“We weren’t hurt but the car was badly damaged and lost power - so the heating went off.

“The Highways Agency came out and pushed the car to the side of the road and gave us silver blankets.

“I’m an AA member but they were inundated and couldn’t make it out straight away.

“We were stuck on the hard shoulder and part of the car was sticking out in to the slow lane - there were lorries whizzing right past us.

“It was freezing and I couldn’t sleep because I was worried.”

Lee and his friends were eventually picked up by an AA truck at 9.15am on Sunday and made it back to Peterborough by 11.30am.

Lee added: “The car’s a write-off so my main worry is how to get to the next away game.”
