Family tribute to tragic cyclist
THE family of a well-known tricyclist have paid tribute to him after he was killed in a collision last week.
Kenneth Usher (77), of Dowsdale, in Crowland, died when he was involved in a collision with a Suzuki Wagon while he was on his trike in Broadgate, Whaplode Drove, near Crowland, at 1pm on Friday.
Mr Usher was a committed cyclist who had been a member of cycling clubs including those in Peterborough, Spalding, Cambridge and Icknield.
His family released a statement through Lincolnshire Police yesterday.
It said: “It is with the greatest sadness that our father and husband was tragically killed on his trike in an accident.
“Cycling was his life and, in his 77 years, he held a few good records, including the Mersey 24-Hour.
“He died doing what he loved best and is sorely missed by wife Gladys, son Paul, and daughter Jayne.
“We would like to thank everyone for their support and comfort at this sad time”.
Witnesses to the collision should call police on 101 quoting incident 212 of February 3.
