A teenager was resuscitated at the side of the road after suffering a ‘medical episode’ at the wheel and crashing his car.

The 19-year-old man suffered the crash on the A1139 Nene Parkway at Orton Malborne. He was driving a grey Ford Fiesta.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “It is believed the driver, a 19-year-old man, suffered a medical episode at the wheel which caused him to lose control of the car and leave the road.

“Police and paramedics attended and the man is now recovering in hospital.

“He did not suffer any injuries as a result of the collision. No other people or vehicles were involved.”

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “An ambulance crew came across the incident at 1.12pm.

“One patient, a man in his late teens, was in cardiac arrest at the scene.

“A crew resuscitated him and took him to Peterborough City Hospital for further treatment.”
