A teenage girl suffered serious injuries after being thrown from a horse.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance and East of England Ambulance crews were called to Ugg Mere Court Road in Ramsey Heights, Ramsey just before 6pm on Tuesday, April 14 following the riding accident.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said the girl, aged in her late teens, was conscious and alert when the crews arrived at the scene.

The spokesman said she had suffered a serious shoulder injury in the incident, and was also suffering stomach pain.

Dr Gemma Mullen and critical care paramedic Neil Flowers, from the air ambulance, gave assistance to medics on the ground when they arrived at 7pm.

An East Anglian Air Ambulance spokesman said the teenager had suffered abdominal injuries and was taken to Peterborough City Hospital by land ambulance.
