A team of estate agents from Peterborough are swapping their desk jobs for a more ‘challenging’ task - climbing the three highest peaks in Britain to raise money for charity.
Made up of a team of seven men from Barker Storey Matthews, based in Priestgate, Peterborough, Alan Matthews, Richard Jones, Ben Green, Simon Burton, Martin Hughes, Cameron Park and Sam White have all been busy training for the climb which will be in aid of Prostate Cancer UK and Sue Ryder’s Thorpe Hall Hospice.
The challenge will mark Barker Storey Matthews 25th birthday celebrations, for which a number of events and fundraising occasions are being held. The overall target for this particular gruelling challenge stands at £7,500 which recently reached the half way mark, with the team having raised over £3,800.
The total amount raised will be split between both of the worthy causes - providing that the seven man team reach each of the highest peaks.
Kate Bement from Sue Ryder said: “We were thrilled to hear Barker Storey Matthews has chosen Sue Ryder’s Thorpe Hall Hospice as one of their charities to support their 25th birthday celebrations.
“We wish the team the best of luck with their Three Peaks Challenge and congratulate them on the fantastic fundraising they have achieved so far.
“This support means Thorpe Hall can continue to provide incredible care services for people living with a frightening life changing diagnosis.”
