Almost £4,000 was handed over to a voluntary organisation who provide weekly news to blind and visually impaired people in Peterborough to keep them informed on what is going on in the city.

A cheque worth £3,900 was given to Peterborough Talking Newspaper on Monday evening (2 February) by the Peterborough branch of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes.

The ‘Buffs’ Grand Primo, Bob Buff, handed over the cheque after a year of campaigning which included a dance, raffles and a barbecue.

Jill Hucklesby, secretary for the Peterborough Talking Newspaper, said she had had no idea how much money had been raised before the cheque was received.

She added: “We are very grateful and so delighted with the money which was raised.”
