Christmas is, for many, a time of indulgence, but not for one strong-willed 13-year-old boy from Yaxley who gave up chocolate for a whole year to raise money for charity.
Daniel Milson savoured a taste of his favourite Lindor chocolate after visiting the Magpas operations base in Huntingdon on Sunday, 4 January, 368 days after starting his challenge.
Daniel has raised nearly £500 for Magpas who bring A&E care by land or air to patients with life threatening injuries.
Daniel chose Magpas to donate to after learning of their work from his aunt Hilary.
Daniel said: “It’s really good to be here and get a proper understanding of what the money I’ve raised is going to. It’s even better than I expected.”
His mum Mel said: “We’re so impressed by his willpower and strong-mindedness. Not once has he disappeared for a sneaky chocolate bar.”
