There are around 320 volunteers regularly supporting the work of the hospice which provides incredible care to patients and their families from across the region. Each year their efforts are officially recognised during National Volunteers’ Week in June.

This year families and friends are being asked to show their appreciation for the commitment and dedication volunteers display by sponsoring them - with all the money raised donated to Thorpe Hall Hospice to help staff continue the work they do.

The hospice’s volunteer services development co-ordinator Jacqui Hookham said: “We couldn’t do what we do without our incredible team of volunteers and this is another way to demonstrate to them how much they are worth.

“Between 1 and 7 June our team of volunteers will give hundreds of hours of their time to us as a charity, supporting our patients, working in our shop, providing administration support, helping our fundraisers, gardening, cooking, helping to maintain our building… you name it, they’ll be doing it.”
