Supermarket staff in Peterborough have given the Salvation Army’s Christmas Appeal an extra boost.

In our pictured, Nadia and Tracey from Morrisons, in New England, present a donation of toys to Kathleen and Gail from the Citadel Church in Peterborough.

The toys go directly to the charity’s annual appeal which runs until December 14.

Tracey said: “We were asked to donate by letter from Judith Harvey, the community programme manager of the Peterborough Citadel and it was our pleasure to do so.”

The Salvation Army lunched its 35th annual Family Appeal on November 20 and it is expected that requests for assistance will be high, reflecting the financial difficulties many families are facing right now. Anyone who would like to make a gift donation can make them at any branch of The Salvation Army.
