The summer months may well mean that the days are longer, but the wait for the sun to set was very much worth it for two Peterborough snappers with cameras at the ready.
For as these pictures show, Wednesday (June 17) was a spectacular one in the city with the red sky adorning the backdrop.
Deborah Geeves sent in a photo of the sky above Orton Longueville, while Toby Wood tweeted pictures he had taken from Dogsthorpe.
Toby said he had never a sunset so spectacular.
Other readers have since sent in more of their photos having captured the stunning sky.
The founder of Peterborough Weather Watch, Trev Robbins-Pratt, said: “I believe these wonderfully colourful sunsets are caused by density of the air molecules in the lower atmosphere at the time of the sunset.”
