New committee post for Peterborough MP

PETERBOROUGH MP Stewart Jackson was last night elected to the prestigious Commons Public Accounts Committee.

The select committee, seen as one of the most important in Parliament, oversees all Government spending and checks it is getting value for money.

Mr Jackson said he was delighted to be elected to the committee, which is chaired by Margaret Hodge MP.
