Prospective candidates looking to stand in elections in Peterborough in May can attend a special briefing session.

The briefing session for candidates and their agents for both council and parliamentary elections will take place in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall, Bridge Street, Peterborough, on Thursday, March 5 at 6pm.

Peterborough City Council’s Chief Executive Gillian Beasley, who is also the council’s Local Returning Officer, will be holding a briefing session for all prospective candidates and their agents to discuss the election processes.

An overview will also be given on the nomination process and election timetable, postal voting procedures, the counting process and electoral integrity issues.

A third of the 57 seats on Peterborough City Council will be contested on Thursday May 7. Parish council elections will also be held in Bretton North, Bretton South, Deeping Gate, Etton, Eye Village, Eye Green, Maxey, Northborough, Longueville, Botolph, Orton Brimbles and Southgate, Orton Goldhay East, Orton Goldhay West, Orton Village and Orton Wistow.

In Peterborough parliamentary elections will be held for the Peterborough and North West Cambridgeshire seats.
