A decision is expected later this week on whether former Peterborough City Council leader Marco Cereste will be chosen to stand for the Conservatives in May’s local elections.

Current council leader Councillor John Holdich confirmed last week that Mr Cereste wants to stand, but that with only one spot left he is not on the list of selected candidates.

Cllr Holdich said interviews will be held this week. He added: “Marco has a lot of talent and has some great ideas.”
