Peterborough City Council is recruiting canvassers to help carry out its annual electoral register canvass.

The canvass is conducted every year to ensure that everyone who is entitled to vote in all types of elections is registered and able to do so.

Canvassers are needed to visit city households over a four week period collecting completed householder enquiry forms.

You must be available to work throughout the period 26 August to 21 September 2015 in the evenings and at weekends and be available to attend a training session on Wednesday 26 August.

The wards that are still available are Bretton North, East, Fletton and Woodston, Orton Longueville, Orton with Hampton, Park, Paston, Walton and West.

Canvassers will need to:

• Have excellent communication skills (language skills would be advantageous)

• Be active and physically fit

• Be professional and polite

• Be reliable and honest

• Have clear, legible handwriting and excellent attention to detail

• Be eligible to work in the UK
