Councillors on Peterborough City Council’s planning committee will decide on proposals for a pitch in Fenvale, Crowland Road. The decision has been referred to the committee by the three Conservative councillors for the area.

The application seeks approval for two static caravans and two touring caravans.

In recommending that it be approved by the committee, the council said the proposed development would not have an “unacceptable impact on the amenities of neighbouring properties” or an “unacceptable impact on the landscape character of the area.”

However, Eye Parish Council has objected to the traveller site. In its submission to the council it stated: “This proposal is outside the village envelope and in the open countryside. It does not make a positive contribution to the area in any way.

“There is not a safe access from the site onto the A1073 for vehicles or pedestrians and there is not a pedestrian footpath along this busy stretch of road.”

The meeting will be held at the Town Hall, Bridge Street from 1.30pm. It is open to all.
