Poorly children were given some early Christmas cheer as a Robinson Crusoe pantomime was performed by the Starlight Children’s Foundation for children on Peterborough City Hospital’s Amazon Ward.

The foundation provides entertainment in hospitals and hospices across the UK and grants wishes for children with serious and terminal illnesses.

The team staged a performance on Wednesday (26 November) where the panto’s four actors danced and sang for the young patients, their families and members of staff.

Zoe Wilkinson, play specialist coordinator at the Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Starlight’s Christmas Pantomime gives our young patients a chance to forget their illness for a short while and simply have some fun.”
