Peterborough area residents are luckier than those anywhere else in the East of England when it comes to the National Lottery.

The National Lottery has now created 4,000 millionaires and the Peterborough postcode (PE) is home to 67 of the lucky winners, making it the luckiest postcode.

Records show 4,000 winners have joined the lucky lottery millionaires club, and PE could become home to even more winners with an average of six new millionaires now created every week.

Those lucky 4,000 have each taken a share of a life-changing £56 billion prize pot that has been paid to UK winners across all National Lottery games since 1994.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We are absolutely delighted to have reached this exciting milestone. It’s incredible to think that there have been 4,000 players that have become a millionaire thanks to a life-changing lottery win.

“Whether they believed in luck or fate and no matter how they have spent their winnings, each winner followed the same path; they simply bought a ticket and joined the lottery millionaires club as a result. The National Lottery is creating more millionaires than ever before and we can’t wait to see how many more winners living in the PE postcode area join the ever-growing club.”

Alongside the thousands of millionaires created so far, The National Lottery has also made a huge difference to communities across the UK. Players have so far raised £34 billion for Good Causes, benefitting more than 450,000 individual projects.
