POLICE are hunting a gang of raiders who stole cash and cigarettes from a Yaxley pub during a spate of seven incidents in just one night.
POLICE are hunting a gang of raiders who stole cash and cigarettes from a Yaxley pub during a spate of seven incidents in just one night.Crooks got in through a ground floor window of the Duck and Drake pub in Main Street, Yaxley and made off with the haul between 11.45pm on Sunday and 2am yesterday.
Lincolnshire Police are linking the incident to six other raids - five in the Spalding area and another at Gorefield, near Wisbech.
At 2.45am, an employee at The Woodman at Gorefield called police to say they thought burglars were in the building. Nobody was found and nothing was stolen.
At 3.10am, burglars broke into The Plough Inn at Holbeach St John's and stole 10 from the till. Four minutes later, police were called by a man who saw three men lurking outside his home at Weston Hills, near Spalding.
At 3.20am, three intruders broke into the Duke of York pub at Gosberton, near Spalding. They stole cigarettes, cash and jewellery before threatening the landlord and a female member of staff. They were shocked but unhurt.
At 3.25am, two men were disturbed on the roof of the Bell Inn pub at Weston Hills, near Spalding and at 3.35am, a man was spotted on the roof of the Royal Mail Cart pub at Pinchbeck Road, at Spalding. He fled without gaining entry.
