Yaxley: Bishop's blessing a big bonus

A MAJOR revamp of a Yaxley school has received the formal blessing of the Bishop of Huntingdon.

A MAJOR revamp of a Yaxley school has received the formal blessing of the Bishop of Huntingdon.Around 900,000 has been spent on the William de Yaxley Church of England Junior School to provide a new computer suite and a multi-use hall as well as the refurbish the school's toilets and cloakrooms.

It was officially opened by the Bishop of Huntingdon the Rt Revd David Thomson last Thursday, who was delighted by the building work, which was funded by the Diocese of Ely.

He said: "I was really impressed with the work and it was clear that the students were doing really well in their new educational environment."

Headteacher Graham Cooper added: "The work has made the school much more integrated and created lots more space."
