WI to hear about Chernobyl appeal

MEMBERS of Whittlesey Women’s Institute (WI) had a fun evening of song and laughter when The Jaqui Duo came to their monthly meeting.

Their next meeting is on April 6 and will be held at the newly refurbished St Andrew’s Church Hall, in Parkinson Lane.

The speaker will be Rosie Sandall, who will talk about the Chernobyl Children’s Appeal. A few years ago members knitted hats and scarves for the appeal, which is run by Rosie and her husband John.

The Peterborough couple make regular trips to Ukraine to support the hospital and affected families from a nuclear accident, taking with them donated gifts and toys.
