PLANS to install an all-weather sports pitch in Peterborough have been given the green light.
PLANS to install an all-weather sports pitch in Peterborough have been given the green light.Members of Peterborough City Council's planning and environmental protection committee have approved the venture earmarked for a site at Westwood Grange, in Mayors Walk, Peterborough.
As well as the pitch, the scheme includes carrying out improvements to a nearby play area and creating parking for 117 vehicles.
The application, approved by the committee on Tuesday, also involves the construction of a 4.5-metre high steel mesh fence and built to specifications of the Football Association.
The council's planning delivery manager Nick Harding said: "The pitch will contribute towards the provision of sporting facilities within the city area."
