SHOPPERS in Peterborough city centre were greeted by a spook - tacular sight at the weekend as hordes of zombies descended on the area.
Dozens of people took part in the first ever Peterborough Zombie Walk on Saturday afternoon.
As part of the event, participants dressed up as zombies and walked from Charters pub at Town Bridge to the Brewery Tap in Westgate via the Queensgate Shopping Centre.
The idea was the brainchild of Lee Mason from Peterborough who wanted to copy similar Zombie walks which are held in America.
Mr Mason said: “In America Zombie walks are a pretty big thing and you often get thousands of people turning up for them.
“I thought it would great to organise something similar in Peterborough and co-incide with Halloween.
“We walked through the Queensgate Centre and gave some of the shoppers a bit of a surprise.
“The whole point of Zombie Walks is that they are kept underground and not massively publicised but we still got a great turnout and people really went to great efforts to dress up.
“Hopefully we’ll hold another one next year.”
