Waiting for Video...

TWO suspected thieves were arrested by police swooped on a city centre street in dramatic scenes on Thursday afternoon.

By the time police arrived – in a van and two marked cars – a parked Honda car owned by 27-year-old DJ Robert Hardingham had suffered extensive damage in a collision with the Mondeo.

Mr Hardingham said he “thought the car was going to come through his window” during the collision.

Mr Hardingham joined Queensgate security staff and British Transport Police officers to chase one of the suspects.

Police said a 22-year-old man was arrested in the railway station car park on suspicion of theft, dangerous driving and failing to stop after a collision.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of theft.
