The Pride interview: Patrick McLintock

Patrick McLintock (24)Warm homes project officer, Peterborough Environment City Trust

Patrick McLintock (24)Warm homes project officer, Peterborough Environment City TrustWhat is most enjoyable about your job or voluntary role?

Helping people in the city save money on their fuel bills (and cut harmful CO2 emissions) through being energy smart.

What is your favourite thing about Peterborough?

The diverse mix of communities and abundance of charity shops.

What has been your most satisfying moment in your job or voluntary role?

The most satisfying aspect of my role is visiting residents and talking to them about sustainable living. People are always willing to take my money (and environment) saving suggestions on board, and it's nice when they get in touch to say I've made a difference.

What is your biggest hope for the rest of 2009?

I hope that the sun shines for our Warm Homes Community Energy Events in the summer, and that lots of residents want to get involved with the project.

If money was no object, what one single thing would you do to help Peterborough?

I would give Peterborough a good sized university close to the city centre. The building would be an exemplar of sustainability and run lots of environmental courses to add to the city's green credentials.
