Naomi Jones (24), is Local Area Agreement involvement officer,
Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service (PCVS).What is most enjoyable aboutyour job or voluntary role?
Meeting voluntary organisations, spreading the word about the Local Area Agreement and knowing that the work that PCVS does really make a difference to people's lives in Peterborough.
What is your favourite thing about Peterborough?
Our thriving voluntary sector, we have over 600 voluntary organisations in Peterborough, all working to make Peterborough a better place. I also like the green spaces, Ferry Meadows is a great place to walk my dog.
What has been the most satisfying moment in your job or voluntary role?
Involving the voluntary sector in Peterborough's Local Area Agreement. It's great hearing everyone's great ideas and knowing that if we all work together, the Local Area Agreement will achieve its main aim, to make Peterborough a better place by 2011.
What is your biggest hope for the rest of 2009?
That we continue to recognise and celebrate the voluntary sector. I'm also organising the first Informing and Involving Week (June 15 to 18), which is a chance for the voluntary sector to come and get involved in the Local Area Agreement. I'd like that to be a success for 2009 too.
If money was no object, what one single thing would you do to help Peterborough?
I'd give all the charities in Peterborough the funding they needed to carry on providing the great services they offer to their service users and volunteers.
If you would like to get involved please contact Naomi through the PCVS website www.pcvs.co.uk, or call 01733 342683
