Police still searching for missing teenager Theo

Waiting for Video...

FEARS are rising over the safety of 16-year-old Theo Kawala from Peterborough who has been missing for four days.

Theo has not been seen since late on Friday (18 February) after a night out in Peterborough city centre.

Cambridgeshire Search and Rescue (CAMSAR) were joined by crews yesterday from Midshire as well as Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Search and Rescue searching for Theo around the river near the Sugar Way estate.

They were also combing the riverbank and paths while teams from Spartan, the specialist water search team, were checking the waters of the River Nene with their equipment.

Sheila Collins, CAMSAR search controller, said: “We have had two teams of four out searching.

“They are trained in the different techniques used for all terrains.

“We’ve called in neighbouring teams because we’ve been out six out of seven days because of other searches and we were a bit stretched.

“But we have more volunteers to call on when needed. We really hope we can help find him.”

Police officers also handed out leaflets at last night’s Posh match at the London Road ground in the hope it would jog fellow fans’ memories about Theo’s whereabouts.

Detective Inspector Neil Sloan said: “Theo is a big Posh fan and we hope that by issuing these leaflets we may find out more information about his whereabouts.

“I would also appeal to Theo directly that he is not in any trouble and should contact his family or the police as soon as possible.”

Theo was dropped off by his dad in the city centre at about 7.30pm on Friday to spend the evening with friends.

He was last spotted on CCTV footage in Bridge Street outside the old Woolworths building on his own at around midnight heading towards Town Bridge.

He is described white, slim, 6’1” with dark brown short hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a black shiny jacket, red and white check shirt and black trainers.

Anyone with information should call police on 0345 456 4564.
