Paston: Community hub read to offer housing advice

A NEW community hub aiming to give advice to thousands of housing association tenants has now thrown open its doors.

A NEW community hub aiming to give advice to thousands of housing association tenants has now thrown open its doors. The new community office, which is based in the Honeyhill Children's Centre in Chadburn, Paston, and is the third one-stop-shop of its kind to be opened by Cross Keys Homes.

The move from its former office at the Old Farmhouse in Freston, Paston follows a recent review into the way the housing association delivers its range of services and support to its tenants.

The housing association currently manages 10,000 homes across Peterborough providing a broad range of affordable rented properties for single people, families and older people.

And Cross Keys Homes' director of operations Claire Higgins was delighted to unveil the new hub alongside senior neighbourhood manager Steve Dumbrell, who co-ordinated the work.

And watching on were staff from Cross Keys Homes, stakeholders and tenants.

Claire Higgins said: "We are looking forward to providing residents with a more locally tailored and personal service.

"We hope eventually to provide all our residents with a number of similar facilities across the city, as well as taking our services right into the heart of the community by enabling our neighbourhood managers to work on a more mobile and proactive basis, targeting their work where it is really needed.

"Partnership working is key to this approach and working with the Honeyhill Children's Centre is a really positive start.

"They have great things going on there and we hope we can add to and enhance their already considerable successes."
