Video: The undead walk the earth in Peterborough

Sunday, 9.15am: A lumbering, groaning and blood-spattered horde of reanimated corpses made its way through Peterborough city centre this afternoon (Saturday, October 27) as the city held its second-ever zombie walk.

Shoppers recoiled in horror, smiled with glee or just looked on dumbfounded at the spectacle.

Dozens of people took part in the event, which saw the mock undead walk from Charters Bar, off Town Bridge, to the Brewery Tap, in Westgate, via Queensgate Shopping Centre, recalling images from the George A. Romero’s 1978 horror film Dawn of the Dead.

Be it office worker, chef, cheerleader, American footballer, bride, schoolboy, punk or sheriff, a wide variety of zombies were on offer for passersby to witness.

Shopper Peter Woodward (40) from Peterborough said: “It’s brilliant. I’m really enjoying it.”
