Video: Peterborough firefighters’ charity pull

Firefighters will pull out all the stops for charity as they heave a 12-and-a-half-tonne fire engine around Peterborough on Saturday afternoon.

The spectacular stunt will take place from noon to 2pm on Saturday (29 September) and will see two teams of off-duty firefighters from Dogsthorpe and Stanground stations, including Steve Peacock, Scott Feveyear, Gareth Boyd and Chris Kelly, pull an engine twice around a mile-long route starting in Westgate before heading up Northminster, Broadway, Long Causeway, Cathedral Square and Cowgate.

It is the first event of its kind to be held in Peterborough and is raising money for The Firefighters’ Charity and Burns Camps, which provide care for children with burn injuries.

Watch commander Steve Peacock is organising the event and said he hoped people would turn out to watch and give them support around the route.
