Kind-hearted students in Peterborough have raised more than £2,000 for an at-risk children’s charity in the city.

Inclusive learning students at Peterborough Regional College, in Park Crescent, ran a shop selling second-hand and craft items in support of The Rudolf Fund.

The charity runs Christmas trips to Disneyland Paris for children with disabilities, but a funding crisis has put its long-term future at risk.

The sum, raised through the course of the year, was presented last week by Learning for Living student Wayne Gilham.

The Rudolf Fund’s chairman Chrissie Rusdale, said: “This is a wonderful, generous and much-needed donation to our cause.”

She added: “This kind donation will go a long way to securing the future success of our charity and we couldn’t be more grateful for the support made by the students of Peterborough Regional College.”

The head of inclusive learning at Peterborough Regional College Jeremy Lloyd said: “Through the hard work of all of our learners I am delighted with the continued donations which we have made to the Rudolf Fund and thank them for their achievements this year.”
