Peterborough MP Stewart Jackson admitted he is ‘crazy’ for Nando’s chicken, regularly meeting Government minister Grant Shapps on the A1 for the spicy Portuguese food.
Mr Jackson was talking on the BBC Radio 4 programme, Profile, a 15 minute biography of an influential figure in public life.
Yesterday (Saturday), the programme was about Mr Shapps MP, the newly appointed chairman of the Conservative party.
On the show Mr Jackson talked about his friendship with the top Tory and how he has been flying with the keen pilot,
taking him to the continent for a lunch.
Mr Jackson said: “When we flew back he let me grab the flying wheel. It was pretty horrific from my point of view but he was just cool as a cucumber.”
He added: “We do meet in Nando’s at the Hatfield shopping centre on the A1. We are both just Nando’s crazy.”
