BMW catches fire after crash in Spalding

A BMW car caught fire after crashing in Spalding this afternoon (Wednesday, October 24).

Firefighters were called to Halmer Gate shortly before 4pm today.

Crews used two hose reels and one set of breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze, which was caused by the impact of the collision.

A spokeswoman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said severe damage was caused to 95 per cent of the car, but no one was injured.
